Michael Joseph Jackson was his name. He was born in
August 29, 1958 and died June 25, 2009. He was an American
singer-songwriter, entertainer, dancer and music producer. He also was known as
the "King of Pop", or by his initials MJ. Jackson is recognized as the most successful
entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contributions to music,
dance, and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, that made him a
global figure.
They were nine children in the Jackson family, and Michael was number five.
He debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member
of The Jackson 5 in
1964, and he began his solo career in 1971. The music videos for his songs,
including those of "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and
"Thriller," were contributed to breaking down racial barriers and
transforming the medium into an art form and promotional tool. The popularity
of these videos helped to bring the relatively new television channel MTV to
fame.
The house was always filled with music. Jackson 's mother taught
the children people and religious songs.
But when this failed to happen, he decided to do
whatever it took to make successes of his children.
He tried to control his children's careers even
after they were adults.
The Jackson boys
soon formed a family band that became a success at amateur shows and talent
contests throughout the Midwest . From the age
of five Michael's amazing talent showed itself.
His dancing and stage presence made him to the
natural focus of the group.
The Jacksons signed
a contract with Motown Records and the famous head of Motown, took control of
the Jacksons '
careers when they started out as a band.
Michael tried to live both ways, black and white and knew how both blacks and whites were treated. Because of that, he wrote the song “They don’t care about us”.
You can hear the song

The Jackson five was an American music group,
which was in progress from 1962-1990. The group was best known for disco hits, and
this experience opened for his coming career. The group was composed of Michael
and his four brothers.
In 1965 started Michael as 7 years in the family
band, Jackson five. The names of his brothers who were in the band were,
Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon. Michael was the lead singer; Jermaine was on
bass, Tito on guitar, Jackie and Marlon as choir. And their father Joe was the
manager for the band. The last years, Jackson five attended in many
competitions and they won. In 1968 they released their first single called
"Big Boy", which they signed. A year after the first single they
released the second single called "I Want You Back", and at the same
time they signed a contract with the record company Motown (a record company
which was established on January 12, 1959 in Detroit ,
the United States
from Berry Gordy). The success was really impressive, and after 6 weeks, the
single had been sold in more than 2 millions of copies. And that was the
beginning of their career.
When Michael died was there a lot of people who
had different attitudes. But in fact, we don’t know how he died. He died on 25
June 2009, less than a month before he was scheduled to begin a series of
comeback concerts, paramedics were called to Michael Jackson's rented home in
Holby Hills near Los Angeles where they found him unconscious and not
responding. They were unable to revive the "King of Pop," and Michael
was pronounced dead at the L.A.
Medical Center .
